Blizzard

Now that's a snow storm.
SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD EASTERN NEW YORK AND ADJACENT WESTERN NEW ENGLAND EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. THE SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY DURING THE COURSE OF THE AFTERNOON. HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING. STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL WILL BE FROM AROUND A FOOT ACROSS THE MOHAWK VALLEY AND LAKE GEORGE SARATOGA REGION...UP TO AROUND 20 INCHES ACROSS THE MID HUDSON VALLEY INTO NORTHWEST
CONNECTICUT.

NORTHEAST WINDS WILL BECOME QUITE STRONG BY EVENING AND WILL CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY. WIND GUSTS WILL FREQUENTLY EXCEED 35 MILES AN HOUR...AND MAY PRODUCE POWER OUTAGES. THE BRISK WIND WILL PRODUCE WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY TONIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING.

A BLIZZARD WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OR FREQUENT GUSTS OF OVER 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED WITH CONSIDERABLE FALLING AND OR BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. VISIBILITIES WILL BECOME POOR...WITH WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES. THOSE VENTURING OUTDOORS MAY BECOME LOST OR DISORIENTED...SO PERSONS IN THE WARNING AREA ARE ADVISED TO STAY INDOORS TONIGHT. ANY TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
And, what makes this really odd is it's cooooold. Current temperature is 0.9F (-18.3 C) with a windchill of -16 F (-27 C). Brrr.
